ANCIP Portal
This research project aims to create a comprehensive database and visualization dashboard that capture African non-military conflict intervention practices. It consists of two interconnected sub-projects that focus on methodological approaches to database creation, as well as visualization and mapping of the information collected. Focusing on key regional organizations, such as the African Union (AU), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), we aim to reconstruct their nonmilitary intervention practices and examine their temporal and spatial patterns. The resulting database will be constitutive to the ANCIP Portal, synergizing with the outcomes and research insights from all other ANCIP projects. In addition, the visualization component of the project will provide a deeper understanding of the spatial distribution, trends, and key characteristics of non-military conflict intervention practices in Africa through interactive visualizations such as maps, graphs, and charts.
