ANCIP Portal

This project is centrally concerned with developing the ANCIP portal, an online platform providing data, visualizations and analyses on and of African non-military conflict intervention practices. It consists of two interconnected sub-projects that focus on methodological approaches to database creation, as well as visualization and mapping of non-military conflict intervention practices. To that end, the database centers on gathering data on the practices of the African Union (AU), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and reconstructs these on a large scale across time and space. In addition, the visualization component of the project will provide a deeper understanding of the spatial distribution, trends, and key characteristics of non-military conflict intervention practices in Africa through interactive visualizations such as maps, graphs, and charts.
