ANCIP Portal
The project is centrally concerned with developing the ANCIP Portal, our online platform providing in-depth qualitative analyses, quantitative data, and visualizations of African non-military conflict intervention practices. It consists of two interconnected work areas that focus on database creation and visualizing non-military conflict intervention practices. The database centers on gathering data on non-military conflict intervention practices of the African Union (AU), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and reconstructs these across time and space. The visualization component of the project is engaged in building the dashboard based on the database that will form part of the ANCIP Portal. In this way, the project provides a better understanding of the spatial distribution, trends, and key characteristics of non-military conflict intervention practices in Africa through interactive visualizations such as maps, graphs, and charts.
